  2026 Performance Snapshot

 We are committed to transparency and service delivery. Here’s how we’re serving Kawambwa in 2026. Funding our mandate for infrastructure, social services, and local economic development.

Q2 2026 Highlights:
From April to June 2026, Council delivered on the following priorities:

  1. Roads & Infrastructure: Completed maintenance works in the Central Business District to improve safety and traffic flow through Roadbed formation, Gravelling works, Grading works, Road shoulder replenishment & Walkway construction.
  2. Social Welfare: Visited 75 CWACs and 203 households were interviewed about the progress of their wellbeing and how they are utilizing the SCT funds.
    • All the beneficiaries have been moved to urban payments, during March-April, 2026 payments
  3. CDF Update:

    For the 2026 (CDF) allocation, a total of 837 applications have been approved.

    This comprises 163 Secondary School Bursaries, 273 Skills Development Bursaries, 267 Empowerment Grants, 134 Empowerment Loans, and 44 Community Projects.

  4. Economic Development: Conducted the district Agricultural show to promote local investment under the theme: Fostering Trade & Investment. 
    • Conducted 69 field days to facilitate information sharing amoungst our farmers. 238 farmers were trained in food & nutrition, 1,000 farmers trained in integrated Pest management with emphasis on the Fall Army worm.
  5. Systems Upgrade: The Revised Cash for Work data capture exercise commenced on 13th July 2026 across all 18 wards of Kawambwa District, along side Community sensitization.
  6. Audit Services: Conducted head count exercise on pupils & students supported under the CDF bursary program under Kawambwa Town Council.
    • Voluntary Male Circumsion exceeded quarterly target at 120% against a target of 95%. The district achieved fully immunized child coverage above national targets & recorded zero maternal deaths during the quarter.
