KAWAMBWA TOWN COUNCIL SWEARS IN NEW COUNCIL CHAIRPERSON

Kawambwa, Zambia- The Kawambwa Town Council held a swearing-in ceremony for the Chairperson-elect, Musa Titus, on November 6, 2024, at the Council Chamber.

The event was attended by the District Commissioner as guest of honor, community leaders, and residents, marking a pivotal moment in local governance.

Speaking during the event, the Kawambwa District Commissioner, Godffrey Chilambwe, said the ceremony represented a significant landmark in Kawambwa districts journey toward growth, unity, and progress. He emphasized that the role of the chairperson is pivotal in shaping kawambwa’s vision and ensuring that the aspirations of our citizens are translated into concrete actions.

Mr. Chilambwe further added that it was essential that everyone worked together, regardless of their different perspectives, in order to build a brighter future for everyone.

Speaking during the same event, United Party for National Development (UNDP) provincial secretary for Luapula, Edward Mubili, said, the event marked a significant milestone in the journey towards development. He Urged the newly installed Council Chairperson to remain committed to his duty and all the people of Kawambwa.

In Addition, the newly installed council chairperson, Titus Musa said in his speech that Kawambwa District requires services from the Local Authority to develop and he assured the residents that service provision shall continue being expanded to all parts of the district as the local authority complements government’s efforts being initiated by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zambia, Dr. Hakainde Hichilema.

Mr. Musa emphasized commitment to community development and collaboration with stakeholders to address local challenges.

The ceremony concluded with a call for unity and active participation from all citizens in shaping the future of Kawambwa. This event symbolizes a new chapter in leadership for the town council and its constituents.
